FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS..

  • Your tattoo will be healed by 4 weeks after the appointment.

However a tattoo wont be fully settled until around 5/6 weeks after the appointment. So I would avoid baths, swimming, sunbeds, sunbathing until 5 weeks

  • Yes, as long as you don’t soak the tattoo.

  • As your tattoo heals, you may notice flakes of skin coming off, it happens particularly with solid black tattoos. This is totally normal as it the result of the scab from your healing tattoo naturally coming away.

Even though it is normal DO NOT PICK at the scab as this could pull some of the ink out. You can help any itchyness/ excess flaking by continuing to moisturize your tattoo.

  • Touch ups are totally free the first time, if after that it still needs a touch up I will have to regard this as a result of poor healing and charge you a rate for fixing the tattoo.

Please just send an email with an image of the tattoo and I will arrange a touch up appointment.

Touch up appointments start at 11:00 am.

  • If your tattoo is small and mainly linework (no heavy black) and in an area where it is unlikely to be rubbed/ irritated by exercise then you can begin exercise two days after the appointment.

Sweaty/ intense exercise is to be avoided until the scab has healed properly.

    If

AFTERCARE

  • This is the see through plaster I may have put on your tattoo, it asks as a more medically sanitary alternative to cling film.

People with sensitive skin are not suited to it so I may not have used it for you. If this is the case then people read the cling film information instead.

For best results leave the second skin on for at least one day

Up to 2 days for handpoke tattoos

Up to 3 days for machine

(The bandage may fall off or peel off to reveal the tattoo before the reccomended days, if so remove as follows)

ALWAYS WASH HANDS BEFORE AND AFTER TOUCHING A HEALING TATTOO

The easiest way to remove second skin is in the shower, peel up a corner slowly and let the water run underneath to help it unstick.

DO NOT RIP OFF THE SECOND SKIN. Peel it off slowly.

You may see a build up of ink or blood beneath the tattoo, this is totally normal.

If the second skin leaks before it is time to remove it please remove as this means the sanitary seal has been compromised.

Once removed wash gently with warm water and non-scented soap to remove any excess ink. then pat dry with a kitchen towel.

  • If I advised against second skin I will have chosen to wrap your tattoo in cling film.

Leave this on for at least four hours and no longer than 6 hours after your appointment.

WASH HANDS BEFORE AND AFTER TOUCHING A HEALING TATTOO

Remove the cover when you are home in a sanitary place.

Wash gently wish warm water and non scented soap, pat dry with a kitchen towel.

  • Once your cover has been removed, moisturize your tattoo a few times a day with a VERY thin layer of your chosen aftercare. It is only to prevent your skin drying out.

Moisturizing a tattoo too often BAD FOR HEALING. Your tattoo is an open wound you don’t want to make it too damp.

  • I use and recommend

    PALMERS COCOA BUTTER
